Indy Urban Acres Veggie Bags Program
Windsor Village Park Family Center
About Indy Urban Acres
Indy Urban Acres, a project of the Parks Alliance of Indianapolis, is a collection of four organic farms used to empower and educate people by providing equitable access to free, high quality produce. Since 2011, Indy Urban Acres has grown into a multi-disciplinary farm that works to inspire transformational change within Indy’s food system by providing food justness for low-income families, educating thousands of youth through tours and farm-to-plate workshops, providing community engagement to thousands of volunteers and groups, and teaching teens valuable job skills.
What is a Veggie Box?
The Veggie Bag is a free weekly share of the farm’s produce. Beginning in early June, for 16-20 consecutive weeks, selected households will receive a bag of fresh organic produce. Additionally, recipes, cooking classes, and other programming will be offered. Each box will be delivered on Wednesdays to Windsor Village Family Center and distributed with additional food/household items on Thursdays from 1:00 -3:00pm.
What type of vegetables are in the box?
Each box will come with a diverse mix of vegetables. If selected, you will receive 40 different types vegetables throughout the year. Basically, anything you can grow in Indiana, we grow. See reverse side for example veggie boxes.
Who is selected?
The information in the application is strictly confidential and will only be used by our team administering the program. Selection will be based on several factors, but the most important is the need of fresh produce and barriers that deter that.

Our congregation participated in the Engaging Young Adults Initiative of the Center for Congregations in Indianapolis beginning in 2019. Our congregational team attended in-person and then virtual learning events and developed a project to better understand and deepen relationships with young adults. Our project was funded by a Center for Congregations Engaging Young Adults grant.
As we complete this work, we value the input of everyone in the congregation in this follow-up survey evaluation. We will be able to track the congregation’s progress through a comparison with the preliminary assessment completed prior to the start of this initiative. This survey should take you 10 minutes or less. All responses are confidential.
If you have any questions about the survey, please email research@springtideresearch.org.
